Appearance:
clear, light+ gold core transitioning to water-white rim

Nose:
medium intensity aromas of grapefruit, gooseberry, freshly cut grass

Palate:
high acidity; medium body; medium intensity flavors of grapefruit, green apple, gooseberry and mild freshly cut grass; long length.  The wine is a between a New Zealand Sauv. Blanc and a Napa Valley Sauv. Blanc in style; the wine is an easy quaffer best served with a chill.  The acidity is a big sharp on the finish.

Quality:
The wine is an average to good depending on the retail price point purchased at.  The wine is more refined that you might expect from a sauvignon blanc from the Sierra foothills.

 |  Category: Wine Review  |  Tags: , ,  | Leave a Comment

Appearance:  clear, deep – ruby core with some brickish hues transitioning into ruby rim

Nose: clean, medium+ intensity aromas of black pepper, red cherry, rose petals and Rainier cherry.

Palate: medium+ intensity flavors of white pepper, red cherry, walnut; medium+ length with an allspice, slightly bitter finish; medium- tannins (bitterness on finish which is a bit distracting); medium+ alcohol

Quality: The wine is a fairly good zinfandel made on the more peppery part of the zinfandel flavor spectrum.  The flavors/aromas have a slight layering, so it is interesting but not superior quality.  The bitterness of the tannins is distracting.

Appearance: light yellow-green core -> water-white rim

Nose: pronounced intensity aromas of orange marmalade, botryizine, apricot, pear, marizpan

Palate: medium- acidity, long length, medium- alcohol, medium+ concentration, pronounced intensity flavors of botryizine, apricot, nectarine, asian pear.  The acidity is a bit too low.  The wine is enjoyable and freshing.  The wine would be great served over fresh fruit especially stone fruit.

Quality: The wine is good quality due to flavor/aroma intensity and complexity / layered flavors.  The wine would be outstanding if the acidity was higher.
